Presentation of the album:
Although we recorded this album a long time ago these 19 titles drawn from different editions of John and Henry Playford have aged well. Nine titles are played on a quartet of modern instrument while the other ten are played on old instruments. This difference of treatment allows for much variety ... and it feels good for the dancers. Bien que nous ayons enregistré cet album il y a longtemps, ces 19 titres tirés de différentes éditions de John et Henry Playford ont bien vieilli.
Neuf titres sont joués sur un quatuor d’instruments modernes tandis que les dix autres sont joués sur instruments anciens. Cette différence de traitement permet beaucoup de variété ... pour le plus grand plaisir des danseurs. Cécile Laye, mai 2020

I also studied in France with Francine Lancelot, Andrea Francalanci and Barbara Sparti.
